Under April Skies

It was a sunny warm April afternoon when I set up in the handy-dandy parking lot next to Saratoga Apple in Schuylerville.  I'd painted this view before - from a reference photo a couple years ago. It was later in the season, with the trees in full bloom and the field planted and just beginning to sprout.  That piece is called "Springtime Sky over Planted Fields". I've always liked the way corn fields look before they're plowed and replanted, and love when the bare trees begin to bud and there's just a hint of red haze from a distance.

*This original painting is finished with an isolation coat, three coats of varnish, and comes unframed.
