This is from Saratoga Spa State Park along the Geyser Brook. I did a smaller 8x6 plein air of this view in the fall of 2021, and had since wanted to get back there for a larger, greener version. When I arrived on site I didn't yet know about those Canadian wildfires, and wondered why a springtime sky would be so hazy. Otherwise it was a lovely afternoon to paint outdoors. I worked for a couple hours, then finished it up in the studio. Incidentally I was set up a couple hundred yards upstream from where I had for "Shack on Geyser Brook".
The new owners of this piece received it as a wedding present from a sister, who purchased it at a show and told me that they got engaged on this very spot.
*This original painting is finished with an isolation coat, three coats of varnish, and comes unframed.
